Rowley Lake - 18th January 2004 - Gary Leisten

A 4lb 12oz pike landed, missed a few but had this one on the bottom (covered in lice). I wont bother you with the piccy (got a couple of the lake and sunset (ok ish)), the dam end had a load of thin ice covering it. Only spent a couple of hours yesterday and today and did not see anyone else. Regards, Gazza.

Tales from France - Mitch Wood

Hi Vince, I have been fishing Pit 2 with Ian, Les, Squire, John & Steve etc. So far have loved being on a great lake like Pit 2 naturally is, also fished Rowley and managed to get a bend in the rod with 3 nice fish. As you may know Ian, Les, Deano & myself recently went to Millstone near Limoges in France and had a few fish each, I saw you had a HAS on tour section so I thought these images would be perfect to post on there. Ian's fish is truly awesome. I have included some other shots as it was -8 most nights (my unhooking mat would freeze before the fish got on it ie under 5 minutes) and very extreme weather conditions, after the freeze it rained and made the lake go up by about 1 ft, it was even to cold to drink beer!!!!! Kind regards, Mitchell Wood

Rowley Lake - 13th August 2003 - John Rivans

Sorry for the lateness of the report, I spent a very lovely 5 hours fishing with two rods not moving, followed by that lovely sound of the alarm going off and the fish went 21-4. This fish is my personal best making the day one to remember at such a beautiful lake.

Harefield No2 - 30th September 2003 - Graham Pearce

The 1-3 Roach was the best fish out of a bag 9lb 11oz. I had another good roach a little smaller than the 1-3 fish, the rest of the bag was made up of small roach and a couple of small perch. All fish caught on single maggot float fished over hemp & a small ammount of ground bait.

Harefield No2 - 20th September 2003 - Graham Pearce

I did an afternoon/evening on No2 yesterday, plenty of good quality Roach on float tactics until a large Pike came crashing through the swim just around dusk, best fish approaching the 1/2 lb mark. I will try a feeder as well next time and see if I can get into some of the larger fish a bit further out.

Harefield No1 20th September 2003 - Andrew Kempster

Septembers been a good month for me on Pit 1 so far. I've managed to get to the lake and do the first two Fridays of the month. Arriving at the lake around seven in the evening and fishing through to Saturday afternoon. I've also managed to do a bit of stalking, due to the warm weather we've been having. On the stalking front I’ve managed to catch two carp, one of 16lb and the other 12lb. The 12lb fish was caught after about ten minutes looking caught on a 2ft zig rig with a single pop up fished about a foot under the surface. The 16lb was caught using similar tactics, bread flake popped up to about 8 inches under the surface. This was fished on the weed as I used a couple of bb shots for weight. Over nighters have produced a couple of 6lb tench both coming in the early hours (2-3 ish in the morning). Also a couple of carp graced my net these going 17lb and 13lb, the 17lb fish came at 3am and the 13lb fish at 8am. Both fish caught from the right hand point fishin! g toward the island, but not tight a good ten foot short, single baits and 15 to 25 freebies.

Hello, me again just a quick one, I took my youngest (6) out for a half day session to No1 on Monday for some small sport, to cut a long story short, he had some perch and suprisingly 3 tench. I keep asking where are all the next generation fish, sods law my son answered my question 3 lovely little tench at 8oz, 1-2, and 1-4, he was so proud, excellent morning.

Harefield No2 9th August 2003 - Phil Skidmore

Fished 1 night caught lots of roach on the float in the evening about 4oz lost good fish at 3.00 caught more roach from 5.00 till 7.30 went dead (hot) caught bream at 8.30. The roach fishing was great as you don't normaly get that many bites and will get better and larger fish towards September I hope.

Rowley Lake 25-26th July - Vince Sutton

Two nights on Rowley, and did we have some rain, first for ages, great surprise when fishing for Bream and Tench caught two twenties on light tackle, great fun and a bit hairy! Most fish came late on in the pouring rain.

Harefield No2 28th June 2003 - Andrew Kempster

Once again the sun came out, and the fish to the top on Saturday. After a short time looking, and feeding the fish they started to take. Out went the ever faithful peice of cork straight on the hook, no more than 4 feet out. Within seconds a pair on big white lips sucked down the bait, fish on. Hit and hold scrap and quickly in the net. 22lb 12oz she went. Pics to follow soon.

Vince, I caught a 6lb 4oz Male tench, as black as the darkest night. Fought well in mint condition. Caught on 14mm bolie fish towards the island at the end of the left arm. Also had a 6lb 8oz female the next day, both bites came about half six in the morning.

Harefield No2 19th June 2003 - Paul Kempthorne

Vince, Caught a 22lb Common from No2, not a monster but my first carp for 3 years and an old Langley Fish.

Rowley Lake 17th June 2003 - Dave Cargill

Vince, Had my first overnighter at Rowley so far. And what a night 5 Bream and 2 Carp. I've included a picture of the larger fish of 18lb 2oz. I didn't manage to start fishing on Monday until about 5pm and had to leave at 7am Tuesday so it was a great nights fishing. 2 hours sleep isn't conducive to a good days work though!! First of many I hope. Regards Dave.

Rowley Lake 16 & 17th June 2003 - David Prasad

Hello Vince, Just thought I would say hello and tell you about my first two days at Rowley lake. During two day sessions one 14 hours and the other 8 hours I managed to land three bream all around the 3lb to 4lb mark and also 2 carp, a common of 16lb 12oz and a mirror of 22lb 4oz. (photos to follow shortly) not bad considering those were my first sessions on the lake. ( I thought I would blank not knowing the water). I would like to add that the lake has quickly become one of my favorite fishing haunts, everyone I spoke to were very friendly, which is a breath of fresh air compared to the majority of thames valley lakes and fisheries. Well done in keeping such a beautiful lake so special, keep up the good work. Many thanks David Prasad
