Bye Laws

These Bye Laws supplement the rules of the Society, as per the rule: 4.3 The following list is not exhaustive. I would ask that you do take time to read through your rule book. Rules are important to running a successful Society in protecting our fish and creating a harmonious relationship between members. Breaking the rules could cause expulsion from the club, something that the Committee would always want to avoid.

DO NOT

If you do not understand any of the rules, why not raise your queries at our next meeting or ask a member of your committee, whose names are in every edition of the Magazine/Newsletter.

General Rules

A main object of the Society is to cultivate principles of fair angling and sportsmanlike conduct. Where possible the Committee avoids writing restrictive rules stating specifically what one should and should not do at the waters, preferring to rely on members proper interpretation of good practice. Unfortunately. recent conflicts on the lakes threatens to change that philosophy if common sense does not prevail. I refer to the practice of long casting, either to the opposite bank or at angles from a swim, restricting the use of adjacent swims. Providing the other swims are not in use there is no problem. However, should another member turn up to fish one of those swims, the angler should withdraw his tackle well away from that water without being requested. No member has the right to sit in one swim and restrict access to others by this action.
