YIEWSLEY AS RULES

RULES PERTAINING TO HUNTSMOOR FARM

1. The length of the venue extends from the fence just downstream of Clisby's Bridge and Iver Lane to Ford footbridge, approximately 3/4 mile downstream.

2. Members shall at all times be in possession of their current membership card and EA Licence when fishing and must produce them on request.

3. All members are responsible to challenge any unknown person fishing on the fishery and to check their membership card.

4. No member shall take a non-member to the fishery without being in possession of a valid guest ticket.

5. No member may carry out any work on the fishery such as cutting down of trees or bushes, weed clearing or bank alterations without the express permission of the fisheries committee.

6. All litter howsoever deposited and of whatever content, on the banks, footpaths and adjoining ground is to be removed immediately and disposed of properly. All unwanted fishing line to be carefully contained and under no circumstances to be left on the ground or discarded into the water.

7. No fishing allowed in any of the fish farm channels.

8. No fish to be taken from the fishery. No game fishing.

9. No fishing by anyone during the closed season for coarse fish (15/3 to 15/6).

10. Members shall at all times observe the practice of fair angling. One rod only may be used at any one time, other rods may be assembled but must be left unbaited with the hook secured, and laid on the river bank.

11. No rod to be left unattended with the terminal tackle in the water.

12. No fishing from any bankside other than that specified as an official swim, except during pleasure sessions or due to adverse conditions, which will be identified by the disputes committee before fishing.

13. No night fishing (between the hours of sunset and sunrise).

14. Club competitions will be discussed at club meetings. Any such competition that is taking place on the fishery will take priority over private angling.

15. Any suspected pollution seen on the fishery must be reported immediately to the Environment Agency.

16 Access to and along the rivebank is granted on foot only and in conjunction with other public access unless specifically changed by the fisheries committee.

17. Any officer of the club may ask any member to leave the riverbank if a dispute arises.

18. No member, other than those on the fishery committee, are to approach the Council or their representatives with regard to negotiations involving any aspect of the fishery.

YIEWSLEY ANGLING SOCIETY RULES

1. The name of the Society will be the Yiewsley Angling Society

2. The Society Meetings shall take place every third Thursday and are to be conducted. By a Chairman and four members to form a quorum. Meetings shall be held at 8.30pm at a place agreed at the previous meeting.

3. Any person wishing to join the Society must attend a meeting before paying their membership fee and be accepted by majority vote of the members present.

4. The minimum age for Senior membership is 16. Members under this age will be considered as 'Juniors' and must be supervised at all times. Unless the Society has received a letter from the Junior's parents/guardian absolving the Society of any responsibility in the event of an accident, they must be accompanied by an adult or other Junior member.

5. Any member who reaches the age of 65 years and has been a Full Member for 10 uninterrupted years should become a Life member.

6. Annual membership is to be paid in full, in advance, before the start of each season.

7. That in all questions not provided for in these Rules the Committee will have full power to act.

8. These and associated Fishery and General Rules be strictly adhered to. Every member shall be issued with a copy and no member shall be entitled to excuse himself on the plea of ignorance of such rules. Anyone suspected of being in conflict with any of these Rules may he asked to leave the riverbank and will be reported to the Secretary of the Society for further action.

9. Proposals to change the Rules at an AGM must be made in writing at least 7 days before the date of the meeting.

10. No member may loan or give another person their membership card.

11. All members must be in possession of YAS membership cards and a current, valid licence when fishing.

12. ALL PERSONS ENTERING FISHERIES DO SO AT THEIR OWN RISK, YAS WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY RESPONSIBILTY FOR THE SAFETY OF PERSONS OR THEIR BELONGINGS WHILST ON THE PROPERTY.

GENERAL FISHING RULES

1. No litter is to be left on the banks of any fishery. During a match any scalesman will refuse to weigh any anglers fish if his peg is not clean and litter free, however the litter was caused.

2. Any member found to be fishing out of bounds must return an fish held at that time.

3. All keepnets must be of a minimum size, that being 6ft x 15in dia. No Barbel to be retained longer than the time taken to obtain a witness.

4. It is permissible to weigh a dead fish provided that a witness can prove the capture.

5. No game fish, Pike or Zander shall be weighed in during match.

6. Numbering off positions will he decided by drawing numbers, highest numbers are not permitted to overtake lower numbers without them having set down their tackle, or having given permission; to do so.

7. When walking off by numbers, anglers must leave all their tackle at the first selected swim and must not change swims until all remaining anglers have set down their swims (i.e. no angler may reserve more than one swim).

8. Whilst fishing, each angler must keep a distance of 15 yards from the next angler unless he is permitted to do so by the other angler.

9. Wading is permitted as long as it does not interfere with other anglers.

10. If selected swims are not producing results, anglers may move to other swims but a maximum of two weigh-ins only is permitted.

11. Any match day disputes that arise are to be dealt with by the Disputes Committee.

12. Championship points will be awarded as follows: 1st: 30pts, 2nd: 29pts, 3rd: 28pts, etc. Anglers fishing matches who 'blank' will receive 5pts. An additional point will be awarded for each complete pound of fish weighed in during matches.
